Case Study
Mutual Fund App Revamp
The challenge
FundsIndia's mutual fund experience had grown one screen at a time over more than a decade. Discovery, cart, payment, and redemption each worked, but they didn't feel like one product, and too many everyday actions ended with someone calling support instead of finishing on their own.
My job was to redesign all of it end to end, while the platform stayed live. People's money doesn't pause for a redesign, so we had to rebuild the plane mid-flight without anyone feeling turbulence.
What we shipped
- End-to-end UI/UX redesign of mutual fund discovery, cart, payment, and redemption flows.
- A standardized design system, so every journey uses the same components, patterns, and language.
- Restructured navigation and content hierarchy that makes the most common actions self-serve.
- Consolidated flows that cut the number of clicks needed to complete core transactions.
- A phased migration off legacy screens, with guardrails so stability never dipped along the way.
